President Ilham Aliyev opens Diplomatic Academy’s new building. The 4th meeting of diplomatic corps of Azerbaijan was held in the Academy’s new building

Baku, Sept 21 (AzerTAc). President Ilham Aliyev today opened the new building of the Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy where was held the 4th meeting of the Azerbaijan diplomatic corps. The Head of State and First Lady were greeted and presented flowers. Then, the President cut the ribbon symbolizing opening of the new building. Rector of the Diplomatic Academy Hafiz Pashayev reported to President of Azerbaijan, saying that the country’s diplomacy has special role in the successes in foreign policy. And that it is glorious duty of diplomats to strengthen country’s independence, propagandize fair position of Azerbaijan among the world states. The Academy, founded on presidential decree in March 2006 plays special role in training of young diplomats and enables to carry out scientific researches in the field of international relations, Pashayev stressed. Since its foundation, the Academy has prepared 400 young diplomats. Now, also representatives of 19 foreign countries study at the Diplomatic Academy. The increased role of international relations necessitated a new building for the Academy. So, the new building was designed and built by the US’s EYP Company who used modern construction technological standards. As stated, the new complex of buildings includes business and international relations institutes, student centers and library. The Complex has been equipped with separate geothermal power system, modern lightening system, and developed greenery in the area. The President and First Lady viewed the monument erected here to the national leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev. Then, they got acquainted with the 3-storey building of Business Institute, the facilities it includes. The auditoriums have been equipped with Wi-Fi and “Bluetooth” computer facilities. The Head of State was informed on student and tutorial staff, on admission rules at the Academy, its rich library with 120 thousand copies of book in English language. The Head of State and First Lady familiarized themselves with the Academy’s International Relations Institute, teaching aids, installed here, the student center with 300 seat café and special meeting hall. Then, President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva attended the 4th meeting of the heads of diplomatic corps of Azerbaijan. The meeting was opened by the foreign minister of Azerbaijan Elmar Mammadyarov. The Head of State made a speech at the meeting. Then, President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyev posed for a photo with diplomats and students.
