President Ilham Aliyev: Turkey and Azerbaijan are the closest countries, closest allies in the world

Baku, April 25, AZERTAC “After I was elected as president I made my first visit to the brotherly country. This is natural. This is a tradition. This tradition shows that Turkey and Azerbaijan are the closest countries, closest allies in the world,” said President Ilham Aliyev at a joint press conference with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Ankara. “My dear brother was the first leader who congratulated me after I won the presidential election. The swearing-in ceremony was held in Baku a week ago, two days ago the formation of the government was completed and I was already in Ankara yesterday. We started meetings with my dear brother yesterday and continued them today. Today’s ceremony, and discussions held yesterday and today once again show that the unity, brotherhood and friendship between Turkey and Azerbaijan is strong, and it has very great future,” said President Ilham Aliyev.
