President: Iran Determined To Resolve N-dispute In Short Time

Tehran, Oct 8, IRNA – President Hassan Rohani stressed on Monday that Tehran is determined to resolve the nuclear dispute with West in a “short period of time.” Rohani made the remarks in a meeting with new Ambassador of the Netherlands Johannes Douma who handed over his credentials to the President. Iran believes it has the legitimate right to pursue nuclear energy on the basis of the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and is ready to remove the ambiguities within the framework of its talks with the P5+1, the President told Douma. He expressed hope that Iran’s relations with the European Union member states, including the Netherlands, would be promoted soon in all economic, cultural and political areas. President Rohani also said that all parties should be careful not to politicize Iran’s nuclear issue. Criticizing latest anti-Iran sanctions which created numerous medical problems for the nation, the President said imposing sanctions is an anti-human rights move. He underlined the need for respecting freedom of expression and cultural differences of world nations. President Rohani hoped the new Dutch ambassador would help further promote Tehran-Amsterdam relations. Douma said, for his part, that his country was very much interested in promotion of all-out cooperation with Iran./end
