President: Iran, Reliable Partner For Neighbors

Kuwait City, Oct 18, IRNA – President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Wednesday that Iran is a reliable partner for neighbors and a danger for arrogant powers. Addressing a group of political, cultural, media and social elites in Kuwait, President Ahmadinejad referred to attempts by the hegemonic powers to promote Iranophobia and said the Islamic Republic of Iran is a reliable partner for its neighbors and friends and a danger for the arrogant and hegemonic powers. He said humanity needs fair international system under shadow of which all people can enjoy justice and fraternity. He said the US administration annually sends arms worth tens of billion dollars to the region. “Can it be said that the arms are for unity and brotherhood?” questioned the president. “Of course no. Definitely, their immediate goal is to sow discord and spark clashes in the region to find a pretext for sale of their arms,” he added. He recalled value of oil in world economy and said oil of Iran and other regional states is exported to Europe and is sold three times as much its original price to the regional states after being turned into goods. He said if governments and officials of the Persian Gulf region get united, the hegemonic powers will never be able to sell billions of dollars worth of arms in the region annually and set up military bases in Islamic states. Noting that international relations should be reconsidered, the President said regional states should expand cooperation among themselves. “Unfortunately, on some occasions, the arrogant powers draw up the agenda for certain governments, thinkers and even religious ulama, which is harmful to nations and it should be rectified in favor of humanity, peace and justice.” Elsewhere in his remarks, the President said certain people think Holy Prophet of Islam (Peace Be Upon Him) belongs to Muslims alone while the prophet belongs to the entire humanity and human beings./end
