President Jokowi Issues Directives To Governors

Bogor, W Java, Nov 24 (Antara) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) gave directives to all governors across the country in a meeting held at the Presidential Palace, here, Monday. The president, in his directives, emphasized the need to synchronize development programs carried out by the central government and regional governments. During the meeting, he urged all governors to report about the development programs in their respective provinces. Among the governors present at the meeting were Basuki Tjahaja Purnama of Jakarta, Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X of Yogyakarta, Soekarwo of East Java, and Syahrul Yasin Limpo, who is concurrently chairman of the All Indonesian Provincial Administration Association. The meeting with governors was held after President Jokowi met Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Sofyan Djalil, Finance Minister Bambang P.S. Brodjonegoro, and Deputy Finance Minister Mardiasmo. The head of state was accompanied by Deputy Vice President M. Jusuf Kalla, and several cabinet ministers that included Minister Djalil, Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Tedjo Edhy Purdijatno, and Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Cultural Affairs Puan Maharani. Other ministers also present in the meeting with governors were Agrarian and Spatial Planning Minister Ferry Mursidan Baldan, Chairman of the National Development Planning (Bappenas) Adrinof Chaniago, Forestry and Environmental Affairs Minister Siti Nurbaya, and Public Works and Public Housing Minister Basuki Hadi Muljono.
