PRESIDENT RECEIVES DEFENSE MINISTER OF QATAR

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The President of Mongolia Ts.Elbegdorj Thursday received visiting Major-General Hamad bin Ali Al-Attiyah, the Minister of Defence of Qatar. Major-General Hamad bin Ali Al-Attiyah is paying a working visit as a personal representative of his country’s Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, so he conveyed greetings of the Emir to the President. Mr Elbegdorj thanked the Qatari Emir for the greetings and sent his reply greetings to him and the previous Emir Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani. Mr Elbegdorj affirmed again that the Emir of Qatar has been invited to Mongolia and thanked the Defense Minister for visiting us. The President said he is satisfied with strengthening of the defense ties between the countries, and noted that Qatar is doing some specific works in Mongolia such as constructing roads and supporting peacekeepers. Qatar has lifted to a high development in a short time by a proper exploitation of its mineral, and Mongolia wants to study this experience as well as achievements of Qatar, the President emphasized. In response, the Defense Minister said he sees an intensive development and progress of Mongolia. He noted that servicemen of the two countries will attend joint exercises soon for strengthening the bilateral cooperation.
