President receives DPRK delegation

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The President Ts.Elbegdorj received Wednesday a visiting delegation headed by Mr Choi Bu-Il, the Minister of People’s Security of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK). Beginning the meeting, the President expressed his satisfaction with a visit of the DPRK delegation, and then passed his greeting to Kim Jong-un, First Secretary of the Workers' Party and First Chairman of the National Defense Commission. Mr Elbegdorj highlighted that the 65th anniversary of the diplomatic relations and the 25th anniversary of the Kim Il-sung’s visit to Mongolia are marked this year. Conveyed a greeting of Kim Jong-un to the Mongolian President, Mr Choi noted that Mongolia and the DPRK have the long-year traditional relations, adding that the countries will continue the friendly relations for the people’s happiness. The President underlined an importance of high-level visits and political talks for forwarding the bilateral relations and cooperation. Mr Elbegdorj emphasized he has been invited to visit the DPRK in this year, saying that he intends to exchange views with Kim Jong-un on the bilateral and regional cooperation. Expressing a satisfaction with a development of the cooperation between the Mongolia’s Ministry of Justice, and the North Korea’s Ministry of People’s Security, the President emphasized an importance of widening the collaboration in trade and economic spheres. Mr Elbegdorj emphasized an importance of an upcoming 9th meeting of the intergovernmental commission to be held this September, and said the countries are possible to develop the mutually-beneficial cooperation in trade, tourism, physical culture and sport fields and in exchanging labour force based on their advantages. He also expressed his position on widening the cooperation in the traditional sectors such as culture, education, health and agriculture. The President pointed out that Mongolia has put an initiative on holding the Ulaanbaatar Talks on Security of Northeast Asia. He hopes that the visit of the Minister of People’s Security will significantly contribute to strengthening the bilateral friendly relations and developing the collaboration and ties between the legislative bodies and law enforcement authorities.
