President receives Nigerian Vice President and Tawakkol Karman

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The President of Mongolia Ts.Elbegdorj received April 29 the 2011 Nobel Peace Prize Laureate from Yemen, Dr. Tawakkol Karman. The sides noted that both of them are journalists by profession. Ms Karman asked the President about women quota in parliament. Mr Elbegdorj replied that this number is increasing and will go up. He also said women are to account for 20 percent of the MPs by law. Ms Karman said the democratic Constitution of Mongolia is very a good law and that Mongolia highly respects human rights. She said she is interested in studying the Mongolian laws. The sides also spoke Mongolia's launching a bloodless democratic revolution in 1989, its support to deepening of the democracy, chairing the CoD, and shared views on regional and international issues. After this the leader of Mongolia received Mr Namadi Sambo, the Vice-President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Mongolia's President said he knows well Mr Goodluck Jonathan, the President of Nigeria, and expressed satisfaction with receiving the Vice president of Nigeria. In response, Mr Sambo said he knows that Mongolia has a magnificent history and is famous in the world. Mongolia has successfully developed the democracy and chaired the CoD. Mr Elbegdorj said Nigeria is one of main countries of democracy in Africa. He also noted that Mongolia and Nigeria established diplomatic relations in 1971 and have been developing friendly relations and cooperation since then.
