Pointing to Iran-Germany economic relations, he called for further expansion of bilateral ties in various fields. On Iran’s nuclear program, the President hoped Germany as a member of the group of sextet will play an influential role in resolving nuclear dispute. He said both Iran and the 5+1- the US, UK, France, China and Russia plus Germany- are determined to play more active role in their bilateral talks. Turning to Syria, the President expressed concern over the crisis in that country and underlined the need to eliminate chemical weapons and weapons of mass destruction in the region. For his part, the German FM hoped the next Iran-5+1 talks would be fruitful, stressing that Berlin is seeking a diplomatic solution to the nuclear dispute.
