President Seeks Ministers To Probe Tragic Tehran-Qom Road Accident

Tehran, Sept 11, IRNA – President Hassan Rohani on Tuesday called on minister of the interior and minister of road and urban development to conduct an inquiry into the tragic Tehran-Qom road accident which left 44 dead and 39 injured. He urged the ministers to take necessary measures to prevent recurrence of similar tragedies of road accidents in the country. He expressed condolences to the bereaved families on the death of their loved ones in collision of two buses late Monday. “The sad news of accident which left 44 killed and 39 wounded grieved me and my colleagues at the government,” he said in a message to the ministers. “I condole all bereaved families and wish forgiveness for those killed in the bus crash.” Rohani also urged minister of health, treatment and medical education to take measures for providing the wounded with proper healthcare. The accident happened on Monday night when a bus coming to Tehran on the highway crossed the guardrail after it got a flat tire and it crashed with a bus going from Tehran head-on and caught fire.
