President Ts.Elbegdorj meets candidate to Prime Minister’s post

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ President Ts.Elbegdorj met Thursday Jargaltulga Erdenebat, who has been nominated for the post of the Prime Minister. Informing that he has accepted an official note about the appointment of J.Erdenebat to the PM’s post, the President gave instructions regarding the forming of a new cabinet and inquired about Erdenebat’s position in this respect. J.Erdenebat responded that the new cabinet will be relatively small in composition, but professional. Furthermore, the number of Ministers being parliamentarians at the same time, in other words occupying double positions, will be cut. However, heads of the basic ministries, namely, ministries of foreign affairs, finance, economy, justice and environment could be apointed among members of parliament, while the other members of the cabinet shall be assigned from outside the legislative body, he underlined. The President underlined the importance of forming a professional cabinet and the appointment of cabinet members from outside the parliament. He also said in favor of forming the cabinet with competent people with high awareness of ethics, satisfying specific requirements and standards. Ts.Elbegdorj said he will present to Parliament his position on the PM’s appointment on Friday.
