President U.Khurelsukh to support scholars and researchers

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On June 30, President of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences (MAS), academician D.Regdel paid a courtesy call on President of Mongolia U.Khurelsukh. MAS Presdient D.Regdel congratulated President of Mongolia U.Khurelsukh and expressed his confidence that consistent support will be provided for the development of the science sector. He then expressed gratitude for the measures that were taken in support of the science sector during his term as the Prime Minister, such as taking the initiative to launch the construction of the Science and Innovation Center on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the academy, and organizing the First State Congress of Scientific Workers. The Mongolian Academy of Sciences ranks 20th out of 46 countries in Asia for its research papers published in international journals. In response, President U.Khurelsukh highlighted the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences being marked in 2021, and pledged to support the development of science and innovation as well as the works to increase its profits and output. As special attention will be paid to reducing desertification and environmental degradation during his term, he expressed that he will support the works of scholars and researchers in the environmental field. Highlighting the importance of the scholars’ studies and suggestions in the policy making process, the president requested the scholars to closely work together with his education, science and technological policy advisor Ch.Lodoiravsal.
