Presidential Aide Says Settlement Of Nuclear Dispute Is Imminent

New York, Sept 29, IRNA – Settlement of the nuclear dispute with the western governments is imminent, Advisor to President Hassan Rouhani for cultural affairs, Hesameddin Ashena said on Sunday. Although nuclear negotiations in New York made little headway, all sides said that the settlement of the dispute is close, said Ashena in an exclusive interview with IRNA. Ashena, who was accompanying the president during his visit to New York, said: "In the past, the Western officials talked about how to unite against Iran, but today they are considering how to help Iran." In New York, all the sides voiced concern that in case of losing this historical opportunity, the possibility of finding a proper alternative is uncertain, Ashena said. He said that President Rouhani's meeting with British Prime Minister David Cameron was in the context of meetings with French president, German foreign minister and senior offciials of the European governments and an attitude to help resolve the nuclear dispute was clearer compared to the tough stand in the past. He noted that any diplomatic effort to help resolve the nuclear dispute should be considered./end
