Presidential election ends in Azerbaijan

Baku, April 11, AZERTAC The presidential election has wrapped up in Azerbaijan. The voting was conducted in 5,641 polling stations in 125 constituencies, of which 5,426 were permanent and 215 were located in Azerbaijan’s embassies, consulates general and permanent representations in foreign countries, as well as in ships navigating under the country`s national flag in the Caspian Sea and international waters, military units, sanatoriums, treatment and correctional facilities. According to the Information Center of the Central Election Commission, a total of 3,716,135 people cast their ballots, which means 69.93% of the total number of eligible voters across the country, as of 17.00. 1000 polling stations were equipped with webcams to provide internet users with an opportunity to watch the whole voting process online via CEC website. The voting was monitored by 894 international observers who are citizens of 59 countries and represent 61 international organizations. The election was covered by 118 representatives of more than 50 foreign media outlets.
