Prime minister’s weekly national address will be adjusted

BANGKOK, April 15 (TNA) -- From today on, the weekly Friday night television address of Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha will have new format with a host would bring in to discuss issues with him instead of his solo speech as before. The TV programme of the Returning Happiness to People program at 8.15pm this Friday was already recorded after the cabinet meeting on Tuesday. Instead of standing at a podium and talking alone like before, Gen Prayut had assistant government spokesman Thaksada Sangkhajan talk with him in the 50-minute program. He also answered people’s complaints on problems to inform the public what his government had done to solve them. Regarding the change, Gen Prayut said that the program would remain in the way that he continued to talk a lot but his topics were worth attention because they were the national problems that had been solved and were being handled. The nation was full of deep-rooted problems that his government had to solve within a limited period of time, he said. His government was doing its best to solve problems for the public interest, unlike in the tenures of past governments when politicians had liked to care for the interest of a small number of their constituents only to protect their political strongholds, Gen Prayut said.
