Prime Minister of Belarus to visit

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A visit to Mongolia of the Prime Minister of Belarus Mr Mikhail Myasnikovich has been scheduled this September. It was reported last week at a meeting of the Mongolia-Belarus intergovernmental commission. It was led by G.Baigalmaa, the Vice Minister of Construction and Urban Development and head of the Mongolian side of the commission, and by Mr S.Ogorodnikov, the Vice Minister of Industry and head of the Belarus side. At this meeting, Ms Baigalmaa also briefed about a policy of her Ministry and opportunity to cooperate with Belarus in this sector. The Mongolia-Belarus relations and cooperation almost ceased since 1990s, especially the trade turnover dramatically declined, Ms Baigamlaa emphasized. However, the investment from Belarus is increasing to Mongolia, she added, for example, it stood at USD 314,900 in 2011, and went up to USD 684,960 in 2012. The bilateral trade turnover reached USD 72 million 250,900 in 2011, and 129 million 363,500 in previous year. It was import from Belarus to Mongolia only, meaning that Mongolia has not exported products to Belarus yet. As of these reasons, the two sides expressed a willingness to mutually activate the bilateral trade turnover. Ms Baigalmaa expressed a confidence that a visits of Mongolia's Minister of Industry and Agriculture and of the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs to Belarus will contribute to strengthening the relations and cooperation. She said Mongolia wants to exploit Belarus machines and facilities for the agricultural sector and elevators for the construction sector and to cooperate in preparing specialists. Mr Ogorodnikov also expressed his country's willingness to cooperate with Mongolia in the mining, road, transportation, education, construction and urban development spheres. The parties intend to organize a fair within the visit of the Belarus PM and to make it fruitful for the partnership of private sector between the countries.
