Prime Minister to visit Sri Lanka on July 12-13

BANGKOK, July 10 (TNA) -- Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha will officially visit Sri Lanka on July 12-13 to seal an extradition agreement and follow up Thai-Sri Lankan cooperation and relations at various levels. Assistant government spokesman Athisit Chayanuwat said the official visit responded to an invitation from Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena. During the visit, both sides will announce bilateral cooperation on political, economic, academic, agricultural, fishing, religious and cultural affairs. Besides, both sides will discuss cooperation at multilateral and regional levels. It includes investment, free trade and trade balance. In the trip the prime minister will also witness the signing of agreements on economic development partnership, community development based on sufficiency economy and agricultural cooperation. The Sri Lankan president has expressed gratitude towards Thailand for its support in various projects including rainmaking for hydropower and agriculture. In addition, both national leaders will witness the signing of agreements on mutual extradition, legal execution, academic cooperation to increase product values and cooperation between the boards of trade of both countries.
