PUREVSUREN FM RECEIVES US ASSISTANT SECRETARY

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Being with an official visit in the USA, the Mongolian Minister of Foreign Affairs L.Purevsuren has been invited to a banquet by the US Assistant Secretary of East Asian and Pacific Affairs Bureau Daniel Russel. The sides have discussed relations and cooperation between Mongolia and the USA. Mr Russel conveyed once again John Kerry’s satisfaction with the earlier pleasant discussion with FM L.Purevsuren about Mongolia’s foreign policy. He said the US is familiar with Mongolia’s efforts to combat corruption, to ensure a transparency and to improve a business environment. Therefore, he said, it is important to consistently realize the Transparency Agreement signed by the two countries, as this document's objectives echo the above efforts. L.Puresuren thanked him for showing support to organizing this visit and said Mongolia is implementing laws and regulations that aim to simplify the legal environment for investors, ensure an equality for both foreign and national investments, and to fight against the corruption. He expressed a gratitude to the US government for having resolved to send high-rank officials to the 25th anniversary celebration of the first democratic election of Mongolia.
