Putin’s visit to India to be effective, fruitful - Russian ambassador

NEW DELHI, December 8. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin’s visit to India scheduled for December 11 will be effective to its utmost and fruitful, Russian Ambassador in New Delhi Alexander Kadakin said on Monday. “Our countries, which were, are and will be strategic partners and are connected by privileged relationship, intend to jointly solve problems and carry out tasks in compliance with their national aspirations and for the sake of international stability, security and peace, the equal, free and prosperous development of all states,” he said. Kadakin noted “the significance of the upcoming visit in the non-easy international context”. Commenting on the upcoming talks between Putin and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said the leaders of both countries had already meet at the BRICS summit in Brazil in July and at the G20 summit in Brisbane, Australia. “The talks were substantial and proved both parties’ drive for finding new promising fields of cooperation,” Kadakin said. He also talked about military-technical cooperation between the two countries. Kadakin said India’s policy towards localised production in India met Russia’s interests. “Russian aircraft are produced on the Indian land. The best cruisers in the world Brahmos and tanks of Russian model are also produced here. Russian advanced technology is handed over,” he said. During the visit, Russia and India are expected to sign about 15 documents, including in military-technical cooperation and nuclear power engineering. Read more
