Putin, Abdullah II to discuss fighting with threat coming from Islamic State

MOSCOW, November 24. /TASS/. President Vladimir Putin is expected to hold talks with the King of Jordan Abdullah II in Sochi on Tuesday, the Kremlin press service said on Monday adding that the Jordanian monarch would make a brief working visit to Russia. Putin and Abdullah II are expected to exchange opinions on pressing issues of the political agenda, including the current developments in the Middle East. "In part, they will dwell upon the Syrian crisis and primarily on the measures to rebuff the threat coming from the Islamic State terrorist grouping," the report said. The agenda for the talks also includes key aspects of and prospects for bilateral cooperation. The Russian President’s aide, Yuri Ushakov, described the summit as a timely and important contact in the context of the Syrian crisis. "The latter topic will be the main one in the course of negotiations," he said. Putin and Abdullah II keep up a tight, frank and trustworthy dialogue, Ushakov said. Moscow proposes to coordinate the Russian-Jordanian military collaboration and to align it with the operations of the quadrilateral coordination center in Baghdad co-founded by Russia, Iraq, Syria, and Iran. Ushakov also recalled Jordan is coordinating the efforts to compile a list of terrorist organizations in Syria and is gathering information from the intelligence and defence agencies of various countries.
