Putin, Al Nahayan for turning Russia-UAE relations into strategic partnership

MOSCOW, April 20. /TASS/. Relations between Russia and the United Arab Emirates will acquire the nature of strategic partnership, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the UAE armed forces, Mohammed al Nahayan said in a joint statement on Thursday. "The parties declared the intention to lend Russia-UAE relations an air of strategic partnership and draft a corresponding declaration," Putin and al Nahayan said in the statement issued on Thursday. They took into account the traditionally friendly relations between Russia and the United Arab Emirates and the rich and fruitful experience of bilateral cooperation in politics, trade, the economy, and humanitarian and other fields. The statement says the parties are certain that steady development of diversified cooperation meets the interests of both states and serves the cause of maintaining regional and global stability in accordance with the principles and goals of the UN Charter.
