Putin appoints minister Oreshkin his special envoy on cooperation with Japan

MOSCOW, March 15. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin appointed the head of the Russian Economic Development Ministry, Maxim Oreshkin, as his special representative on trade and economic cooperation with Japan, according to a decree posted on the official legal information portal. The decree comes into force after being published. In the wake of the Eastern Economic Forum that took place in Russia’s Far Eastern city of Vladivostok on September 2016, Putin instructed the government with designating Russia’s special envoy responsible for the development of economic ties with Japan. On September 1, 2016, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe appointed Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Hiroshige Seko to the newly created post of the minister for economic cooperation with Russia.
