Putin calls for treating Israel's interests in Middle East respectfully

UNITED NATIONS, September 29. /TASS/. Israel's interests in the Middle East should be treated respectfully, Russian President Vladimir Putin told reporters on Monday after a meeting with U.S. President Barack Obama at the UN headquarters. "We should treat the interests of the Israeli state respectfully, since Israel is really concerned by what's happening in that country /Syria/," he said. Putin indicated that Russia and Israel had agreed to collaborate at the level of the General Staffs of their Armed Forces on the situation in Syria. He gave the assurances along with it that the two countries were not considering any specialized mechanisms for this collaboration. "These issues are subject to discussions by specialists and this work will be done without any special mechanisms," Putin said. Read more
