Putin hails Russian-Turkish ties

MOSCOW, September 23./TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin hailed on Wednesday Russia’s relations with Turkey. "As for our bilateral contacts, we are highly satisfied with the way our interstate relations develop," the president said at talks with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan. "Regular contacts continue at the highest level, both in the parliamentary and governmental directions," he added. Speaking about upcoming parliamentary elections in Turkey, he wished success to Erdogan’s party. Noting a decline in economic ties with Turkey for certain objective reasons, Putin said Russia remained its second-biggest trade and economic partner. "Our trade and economic ties keep diversifying, which is gratifying," Putin said. The president said investment was growing, amounting to $10 billion on each side. Read more
