Putin, Kerry to discuss Syria, Ukraine, no fixed agenda of meeting - Kremlin

MOSCOW, March 23. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin will discuss with U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry on March 24 the Syrian settlement and the implementation of the Minsk agreements, however, there is no fixed agenda of the meeting, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Wednesday. "There is no such fixed agenda," Peskov said when asked whether the issue of the fate of Ukrainian national Nadezhda Savchenko convicted in Russia will be discussed at the meeting. "Naturally, there is an array of issues of primary importance. These are, of course, the Syrian settlement process, the exchange of views on the situation with the implementation of the Minsk agreements," he said. "As for all the rest, if there is enough time, some issues will be raised (by the parties) at the talks," he added. Peskov earlier said that Putin would receive the U.S. secretary of state after Kerry’s meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. "The Secretary of State and the minister will brief the president on their contacts, and a fairly wide range of issues will apparently be raised during the meeting with the president," he said. Kerry is arriving in Russia on Wednesday evening. Read more
