Putin to meet Kyrgyz President Atambayev in Bishkek on September 17 - presidential aide

MOSCOW, September 15. /TASS/. Russia’s President Vladimir Putin will meet Kyrgyzstan’s President Almazbek Atambayev on Saturday, September 17 in Bishkek to discuss trade and economic relations of the two countries, the Russian president’s aide Yuri Ushakov told journalists. "Our President’s meeting with President Atambayev will start in the morning on September 17," the presidential aide said. According to him, the two leaders will discuss the economic cooperation in the context of Kyrgyzstan’s membership in the Eurasian Economic Union. Kyrgyzstan joined the organization on August 12, 2015. Ushakov said that some aspects of Russian support for Kyrgyzstan to adapt to the norms of the Union will be discussed. He added that Moscow is to gradually allocate $200 mln to Bishkek for this purpose. The same day, Putin and the leaders of other CIS countries are to take part in the wreath laying ceremony at the memorial to victims of the Turkestan uprising in 1916 and at the monument to soldiers of the Great Patriotic War. "After that festivities are planned dedicated to the 60th anniversary of Atambayev," Ushakov said. Read more
