BEIJING, June 7. /TASS/. Russia and China are interested in establishing peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula and Russia sees Pyongyang’s constructive attitude to a settlement, Russian President Vladimir Putin told a news conference following his talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping. "Russia and China are interested in the establishment of peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula and in Northeast Asia in general," Putin said, adding it was an encouraging sign the inter-Korean negotiation process "is going on in accordance with the logic of the Russian-Chinese roadmap plan for the Korean settlement." "The recent Russian-North Korean contacts reaffirmed Pyongyang’s preparedness for constructive work," Putin said. At his talks with Xi on Friday, he added, the Iranian nuclear program was touched upon. On the whole, "the discussion of international issues confirmed that our countries make similar or identical approaches to many global or regional problems," Putin said. He reaffirmed the determination to push ahead with joint efforts to enhance and harmonize integration processes in the Eurasian space, in particular, connecting Eurasian Economic Union and the Silk Road Economic Belt and "creating in the longer term a Greater Eurasian Space on this basis."
