Putin thanks BRICS leaders for specific proposals made at summit

UFA, July 9. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Thursday that the leaders of the BRICS countries (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa) at the group’s summit have put forward concrete proposals for the association’s development. "I want to thank you for this part of our work," Putin told other leaders of the BRICS member states after their speeches at the summit’s expanded meeting. "Your reports contained an analysis of the current world situation and the situation in our countries. Specific proposals for the development of our organisation have been put forward," the Russian president said. Putin also expressed gratitude to the members of the delegations and experts involved in the preparation of documents for the summit, which will be signed on Thursday. "And then on your behalf as the leader of the country hosting our event, I’ll make a brief statement for the press," said the Russian leader. Read more
