Putin welcomes Kyrgyz guardsmen in their language

BISHKEK, March 28. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin’s visit to Kyrgyzstan on Thursday started with the official meeting ceremony in the Ala Archa State Residence. It is the first visit of a foreign state leader to Kyrgyzstan in the last few years. Putin’s meeting with Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov was carried out under the new rules of the republic’s state protocol. A marble building had been constructed for official meetings with state leaders in front of the congress hall of the state residence. The Kyrgyz president arrived first to the congress hall, and then Putin arrived in an Aurus. The Russian and Kyrgyz state leaders were welcomed by the guard of honor of the Kyrgyz National Guard and the hymns of the two states. Putin welcomed the guardsmen in Kyrgyz. The negotiations After the end of the ceremony the state leaders went to carry out face-to-face negotiations. "During the negotiations the state leaders will discuss the current state and prospects of development of Russian-Kyrgyz relations of strategic partnership and alliance," the Kremlin’s press service reported. "They will share their positions on developing cooperation in regional associations, in particular regarding Kyrgyzstan’s chairmanship in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization this year and in the Collective Security Treaty Organization." Russian Presidential Aide Yuri Ushakov told journalists that a joint statement of the two state leaders will be signed after the negotiations, and a package of intergovernmental, interagency, interregional and commercial documents that cover cooperation in various areas will also be signed in their presence. After the negotiations the two state leaders will attend a plenary session of the Russian-Kyrgyz interregional conference. Putin and Jeenbekov will also visit Chingiz Aitmatov House-Museum. Putin’s visit to Bishkek will end with the laying of wreaths to the Eternal Flame. Read more
