Qalibaf calls for bolstering Iran-Croatia parliamentary friendship ties

Tehran, IRNA - Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf in a meeting with the chairman of the Croatia-Iran parliamentary friendship group at the Croatian parliament Zlatko Hasanbegovic on Monday urged broadening of Iran-Croatia parliamentary friendship ties. Qalibaf met and held talks with Hasanbegovic here on Monday. Expressing hope that the current trip will be effective in expanding political, economic, and cultural relations, Qalibaf congratulated on the 30th anniversary of the formal communication between Iran and Croatia, adding that Iran calls for strengthening the parliamentary relations with Croatia. He stressed the need to create a lasting path for communication between Iran and Croatia, saying that sustainable communications are determined by governments and parliaments, and it is necessary to promote the relations of parliamentary friendship groups. Referring to the Vienna talk’s process, which the US is preventing from reaching its conclusion by contradicting their words and actions, he noted that in a situation where oppressive and illegal sanctions are imposed on Iran, it is important that which countries stand together in difficult circumstances. Stressing the need to facilitate relations between businessmen in Iran and Croatia, Qalibaf highlighted that establishing Iran-Croatia parliamentary friendship ties can multiply the economic relations between the two countries within a year. Pointing to the bolstering quality of relations between Iran and Croatia in various fields, Hasanbegovic, for his part, reiterated that there is a friendly and deep-rooted relationship between the two states and Croatia looks forward to increasing relations with Iran.
