Qasemi: US upcoming govt. should be committed to JCPOA

Tehran, Nov 7, IRNA – Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qasemi said on Monday that the upcoming US government should remain committed to its pledges with regards to the Implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). Qasemi: US upcoming govt. should be committed to JCPOA Speaking in his weekly press briefing, Qassemi said the next US government even minds to be reluctant but should remain committed to the pledges of the former government in dealing with the JCPOA. The US people will decide who will be the winner of their presidential elections, he said. 'We have learned not to talk about domestic issues of others and would like to remind this to those who are ignorant,' he said. 'We should wait and see whom will the US government elect as the US president; the people's votes have our approval,' 'We have special problems with the US, the most important of which being the JCPOA and the US commitment. I do not suppose anybody comes on power will violate commitments; we are not concerned with that.' The US administration even mind to avoid implementation of the previous government will not be able to ignore the already reached agreements between the two parties, he said. As far as other issues are concerned, there is no special interaction or dialogue with the US and as long as they have not changed their policy or stances towards Iran, nothing will happen, Qasemi said. 1378/IRNA
