Question of meeting of Russian, Egyptian presidents being discussed - Peskov

MOSCOW, August 7. /TASS/. Preparations for the next meeting between Presidents of Russia and Egypt Vladimir Putin and Abdel Fattah el-Sisi are underway, the dates of the meeting have not been agreed yet, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters answering a question from a TASS correspondent. "Various dates of the summit are indeed being discussed through diplomatic channels," he said, adding that the dialogue between the two presidents was "very regular and meaningful." "The issue is being discussed, and when the dates are finalized, we will make a relevant statement," Peskov said. He noted that the meeting place would too be announced after all details were agreed. Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev told the Al-Ahram newspaper ahead of his visit to Egypt that the contract on the construction of a nuclear power plant in the country with Russia’s assistance could be signed "during the next bilateral summit." The agreements to this effect were reached during the Russian president’s visit to Cairo in February. The Egyptian leader visited Russia last August and during the celebrations to mark the 70th anniversary of the Victory over Nazism in May 2015. Read more
