Qumi Denounces Sanctions Against Iran

Srinagar, India, Aug 4, IRNA -- Terming the recent American sanction imposed against Iran as unjustified and grave violation of international law, Payrovan-e- Villayat (PeV) Thursday urged Muslim countries to raise their voice against the American hegemony. In a meeting here Friday, Patron PeV, Mowlana Sibte Mohammad Shabir Qumi condemned the recent sanction imposed by the US Congress against Iran on Wednesday, which aims to punish banks, insurance companies and shippers that help Tehran sell its oil. “These sanction are open human rights violation against the peace loving people of Iran,” said Qumi. He said America, with support of its allies, is using force against Iran while terming the recent sanctions as ‘unjustified’. “They have been imposed following a ploy to weaken the Muslim country,’ he said. Castigating international bodies for failing to stop intervention of America in other countries affairs and dissuade it from pursuing its anti-Muslim policies around the world, Qumi said that that UN which was formed to ensure security of human rights has maintained its criminal silence over the issue. “The people of Iran are firm and such devil forces won’t weaken their determination in achieving their goal,” he said. Meanwhile Qumi appealed to the Organization of Islamic Countries to come forward and build pressure on the international bodies to stop America from unnecessarily interfering in the affairs of Muslim countries./end
