Rafsanjani Urges Western States Not To Ne Influenced By Zionist Regime

Tehran, Feb 18, IRNA – Chairman of Iran’s Expediency Council Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani said Iran has taken the first step to solve the dispute over its nuclear program and expects the West and the US not to be influenced by Israeli propaganda. Rafsanjani made the remarks in a meeting with visiting Speaker of the People’s National Assembly of Algeria Mohamed al-Arab Weld Khalifa on Monday. Rafsanjani said that Algeria is known for moderation and wisdom in the history. He said that despite political common grounds, economic, scientific and cultural cooperation between Iran and Algeria is not satisfactory. The Expediency Council chairman said that internal conflicts among Muslim countries have diverted attention from Muslim world’s main issue, Palestine. He hoped that the 9th OIC Parliamentary Union conference which is underway in Tehran would lead to serious decisions to prevent Islamic countries in Asia and Africa from sheltering terrorist groups. The Algerian parliament speaker, for his part, expressed concern about conflicts in Muslim countries, calling for efforts to be made to restore peace and security to the region. On Iran’s nuclear program, he said that all countries across the world are entitled to develop nuclear technology for peaceful purposes. Western countries are worried that their monopoly on nuclear technology would be broken up and so they are angered by nuclear progress of Iranian scientists, he said./end
