Rallies Condemning Anti-Iran Sanctions Due To Be Held In Rome

Rome, Jan 21, IRNA – An anti-imperialism movement in Italy has called for staging rallies condemning sanctions imposed on Iran in Rome on February 2. “We will hold a rally in condemnation of international sanctions against the Islamic Republic of Iran in central Rome on February 2,” said Stefano Bonilauri, leader of the anti-imperialism movement in a exclusive interview with IRNA. He said tough sanctions against Iran have mostly hurt the economies of the same European countries which had economic relations with Iran for long years. These countries have imposed sanctions on Iran only to obey Washington and Tel Aviv and the sanctions will mostly hurt themselves, he added. He went on to say that western countries use the issue of “human rights” as an excuse for their illegal intervention in other countries’ internal affairs and ignore their personal and social rights. He termed as “shameful” imposition of sanctions against Iran just because of its civilian nuclear program. Bonilauri said that NATO keeps hundreds of nuclear bombs and other weapons in Italy and the entire Europe, but no Italian politician addresses the issue and if so they cover it up with a peace-seeking justification./end
