Referendum "On Amendments to the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan" set for September 26

Baku, July 26, AZERTAC President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has signed an order to hold a popular vote (referendum) "On Amendments to the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan." Under the Presidential Order a draft Referendum Act "On Amendments to the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan" will be put to a popular vote and published in the media. The referendum is scheduled for September 26, 2016. The Central Election Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan was instructed to ensure the implementation of the referendum on the date specified in the order. The Cabinet of Ministers was instructed to take necessary measures to provide financing for the referendum.
