Relations between Beijing, Moscow do not depend on external factors - Chinese top diplomat

The development of strategic partnership between Beijing and Moscow does not depend on external factors, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said at a press conference following talks with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov on Monday. According to Wang Yi, bilateral relations are based on the two countries’ key interests. "My colleague and I share the opinion that the global situation has been rapidly changing, the instability and unpredictability factors have been growing," the Chinese top diplomat said. "In order to protect our interests and ensure global peace and stability, we need to boost cooperation and advance side by side, strengthening our strategic interaction," he added. "This is not a circumstantial decision, it does not stem from external factors," Wang Yi pointed out. "This choice has been made based on the key interests of our countries and our determination to ensure global peace and cooperation," he stressed.
