Resistance Arms Not Negotiable: PLC Member

Gaza, Sept 2, IRNA – The arms of the anti-Israel resistance movement are not negotiable, Member of the Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC) Faisal Abu Shahla said on Tuesday. Talking to IRNA, he added that Palestinian groups had an upper hand in Cairo ceasefire talks and were united in support of the resistance arm. Abu Shahla urged the international community to dispatch relief supports to the war-torn region of Gaza and help the reconstruction process. The negotiating team will continue ceasefire talks to guarantee construction of Gaza port and airport and in the meantime to free the Palestinian prisoners, said the Palestinian negotiatior. Representatives of the Palestinian resistance movement and Israel last week reached a deal on a long-term ceasefire. The truce will rid the territory of its seven-year-old blockade. Israel launched an aerial military onslaught against Gaza civilians since early July 8 and later expanded its operation with a ground invasion. More than 2,137 Palestinians, including around 570 children, have been killed so far in the Israeli atrocities on Gaza. Some 11,000 others have been wounded. Most of the victims were civilians, including children, women and the elderly. Tel Aviv says 68 Israeli soldiers were killed in the conflict, but Hamas puts the deaths of Israeli soldiers at more than 150./end
