Rodong Sinmun Blasts U.S. Assertion Related to THAAD Deployment in S. Korea

Pyongyang, July 18 (KCNA) -- The U.S. is misleading the public opinion that the DPRK's access to various kinds of rockets pose a "serious threat" to the security of south Korea and Asia-Pacific and, therefore, the decision on the THAAD deployment in south Korea is an "inevitable option" to cope with it. Rodong Sinmun Monday in a commentary terms this the height of profound confusing of right and wrong. It goes on: The THAAD deployment in south Korea is a direct product of the U.S. sinister ambition to maintain its military hegemony in Asia-Pacific. The aggressive pivot to Asia-Pacific strategy sought by the U.S. is aimed to establish military domination over the Korean peninsula and, furthermore, outstrip China and Russia militarily. The main purpose of the THAAD deployment is to contain and militarily hold down the surrounding countries in Northeast Asia by forming the Asian version of NATO with the alliance of the U.S., Japan and south Korea as the principal axis. The peace and security are seriously threatened on the Korean peninsula and in the region owing to the U.S. THAAD deployment in south Korea with a nuclear war fast coming into a reality. The U.S. is working hard to turn the peninsula into the ground of thermonuclear war, obsessed with the anachronistic hostile policy toward the DPRK and absurd strategy to dominate the world, but it is no more than a daydream.
