Rodong Sinmun Calls for Having High Degree of Class Self-respect

Pyongyang, August 21 (KCNA) -- Those engaged in a revolution can advance straightly without slight deviation and moment's hesitation and wavering in the complicated revolutionary struggle only when they have a high degree of class self-respect, says Rodong Sinmun in an article Tuesday. A high degree of class self-respect constitutes an ideological and moral source of giving full rein to the habit of self-reliance and self-development, while totally rejecting the dependence on others and the proclivity to import, in the ongoing grandiose drive for economic construction, the article notes, and goes on: The people high in class self-respect do not eye things and strength of others under any circumstances but create everything necessary by their own efforts and by their own way under the banner of self-reliance and self-development. Now is the crucial period for all the people to fully display the spirit of self-reliance and self-development, having a higher degree of class self-respect than ever before. A victory in a revolution means a triumph of mental power of the masses out believing in their own strength and this is sure to be fully displayed when the class self-respect is given full rein. This is the truth taught by the history of victory of Juche Korea. Only when the popular masses responsible for socio-history development have a high degree of class self-respect, is it possible to give full rein to the might of socialism outpacing imperialism in all fields of the revolution and construction. Our country will confidently outpace the world in all spheres if all its people give full play to their inexhaustible strength and creative wisdom in the grandiose economic construction with a higher degree of self-respect than ever before, while consolidating the successes already gained.
