Rodong Sinmun Slams Japanese Reactionaries' Event to Mark Anniversary of SDF

Pyongyang, July 21 (KCNA) -- The Japanese reactionaries held an event marking the anniversary of the "Self-Defense Forces" (SDF) in their embassy in Seoul for the past two years for fear of protests of south Koreans, but they held it at a hotel in Seoul on July 12. Commenting on this, Rodong Sinmun on Thursday says that this is intolerable mockery and insult to the Korean nation. The aim sought by the Japanese reactionaries in holding the event in Seoul was aimed to calm down the mounting anti-Japanese sentiments of the south Korean people and lay a springboard for staging a comeback to Korea. What irritates Koreans is that the Japanese reactionaries are citing "threat" from the DPRK in a bid to justify the criminal farce. Recently Japan held a confab with the U.S. and the south Korean puppet regime over the issue of the "nuclear and missile threat" from the DPRK. They even staged a ballistic missile defense combined exercise, the first of its kind, stressing the need to "share more military information about the north" and "verify the cooperation capability." It is the calculation of the Japanese reactionaries to take an adamant action for reinvasion, watching for a chance in pursuance of the U.S. scenario to tighten the triangular military alliance. They should, however, bear in mind. They can never succeed in their underhand scheme to realize their scenario to stage a comeback to Korea step by step under the cloak of an event in league with the puppet regime. The DPRK today is no longer what used to be in the past. The service personnel and people of the DPRK will surely force Japan, their sworn enemy, to pay for its past crimes and get the pent-up grudge of the nation settled. The Japanese reactionaries would be well advised to stop their reckless action, well aware that the above-said event will get them nowhere. -0-
