Rodong Sinmun Terms "Threat" Cited by U.S., Japan and S. Korean Puppet Forces Hypocritical

Pyongyang, November 23 (KCNA) -- The chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff, the chairman of the Joint Staff of Japan and the chairman of the south Korean puppet Joint Chiefs of Staff were recently closeted in Washington over the proposal for cooperation in coping with the "nuclear and missile threat" from the DPRK. This was followed by the huddle of diplomatic deputy chiefs of the U.S., Japan and south Korea in Tokyo to discuss countermeasures against the DPRK. Timed to coincide with this there took place bilateral talks at different levels between the U.S. and Japan, between the U.S. and south Korea, and between Japan and south Korea to cope with the "threat" from the DPRK. They do not hide the fact that the frequent U.S., Japan and south Korea joint military drills are targeted on the DPRK. Rodong Sinmun Wednesday says in a commentary that the "threat" from the DPRK persistently touted by the U.S., Japan and the south Korean puppet forces is nothing but a deceptive artifice to cover up their provocative nature. It goes on: The sinister aim sought by the U.S. in vociferating about the "threat" from the DPRK is to give a shot in the arms of Japan and south Korean puppet forces for fabricating a NATO-type military bloc, containing the regional powers with a collective military edge and thus realizing their aggressive ambition for domination. The DPRK is the primary target of the NATO of Asian version. It will never remain a passive onlooker to the formation of the aggressive triangular military alliance involving the U.S., Japan and south Korea. The DPRK will bolster up its nuclear deterrent both in quality and quantity to beat back the aggression by the hostile forces while invariably adhering to the party's line of simultaneously pushing forward economic construction and the building of nuclear force. -0-
