Rodong Sinmun Terms U.S. Chief Criminal Who Compelled DPRK to Have Access to Nukes

Pyongyang, September 20 (KCNA) -- The U.S. now spouts invectives that "the DPRK is the biggest obstacle in realizing the world without nuclear weapons" and the "DPRK's nuclear and ballistic missile plan poses a threat to the region, the U.S. and the world". Rodong Sinmun Tuesday in a commentary says that the DPRK's counteraction with self-defensive measure to the hostile forces' threat is a legitimate right of the sovereign state specified in the UN Charter. Therefore, no one can violate the right. The U.S. is the chief criminal who produced nuclear issues on the Korean peninsula and compelled the DPRK to have access to nukes, and the root cause and entity posing practical nuclear threat, the commentary notes, adding: It is the spirit of the DPRK to counter the U.S. moves to stifle it with the toughest counteraction. As the U.S. increases the degree of the moves hostile to the DPRK, the latter's ability of nuclear attack is rapidly bolstered up. It is a foolish daydream for the U.S. to think of denuclearizing the DPRK through military pressure, sanctions and blockade. The structure of power between the DPRK and the U.S. has completely changed on the Korean peninsula. The DPRK's revolutionary armed forces can fight any type of war chosen by the U.S. imperialists.
