Beirut July 21, IRNA – Lebanese lawmaker Ghazi Zaiter said on Saturday that Iranian president-elect Hassan Rohani will make effort to strengthen ties between Islamic and Arab countries against foreign plots. In an exclusive interview with IRNA, Zaiter who previously served as Lebanese Defense Minister, expressed pleasure with Rohaniˈs election as new Iranian president. Developing unity among the Muslim nations is high on the agenda of Rohaniˈs administration, he said, underlining the importance of improving relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia. He urged all Arab states to seize the opportunity of the holy month of Ramadan to talk together over different issues, in a bid to thwart foreign plots before they run out of control. ˈWe should not fuel the flames of sectarian strife, because division among Muslims is what the US and the Zionist regime want,ˈ he said.
