Rohani Calls For Expansion Of Ties With Sri Lanka

Tehran, July 7, IRNA - President-elect Hassan Rohani, in a message to Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa, expressed hope that bilateral cooperation would further grow in future. He made the remarks in response to President Rajapaksa message of felicitation on his landslide victory in the June 14 presidential election. He said Tehran and Colombo have been enjoying historical and friendly relations based on mutual respect. Rohani won Iranˈs 11th presidential election, which was marked by high voter turnout, by securing 18,613,329 of a total of 36,704,156 ballots counted./end
