Rohani Hopes For Effective Steps Toward Illuminating Iran's Basic Rights

Tehran, Sept 24, IRNA – Iran’s President Hassan Rohani expressed hope that his visit to New York for the United Nations General Assembly meeting be effective in illuminating Iran’s views and restoring nation’s rights. Talking to reporters upon his arrival in J.F. Kennedy airport in New York, he outlined the timetable of his meetings during his stay there. He said he is to address three meetings of the UN General Assembly, the special meeting on the nuclear disarmament and the meeting of the foreign ministers of the Non-Aligned Movement. He noted that he is also scheduled to meet with a number of regional and world heads of state. President Rohani said he will further attend gatherings of US elites, leaders of Muslim Americans and Iranians residing in the US. The eagerness expressed by a great number of world leaders to meet with Rohani, the resumption of nuclear talks and a probable meeting between presidents of Iran and the US have spotlighted the visit of the Iranian President to the UN, with many media and diplomatic circles focusing on it./end
