Rohani: Iran Wants Stronger Ties With Neighboring Countries

Tehran, Aug 6, IRNA – President Hassan Rohani said on Monday that Iran wants expansion of relations with neighboring countries. The Islamic Republic of Iran has always favored further expansion of relations with all countries, especially the friendly and neighboring states, said Rohani in a meeting with Speaker of the Milli Majlis (parliament) of Azerbaijan Ogtay Asadov in Tehran. He said cooperation between Iran and Azerbaijan can be helpful for consolidation of bilateral and regional relations. Pointing to Iran-Azerbaijan good parliamentary relations, Rohani said, I am confident that the good relations at regional and international levels would held fulfill common goals and serve as a source of blessing for nations and governments of Iran and Azerbaijan. He then thanked Azeri officials for attending his swearing-in ceremony. The Azeri parliament speaker said, Iran is an important country in the Middle East. Baku favors consolidation of relations with the country in all spheres. Azeri parliament too supports bilateral, regional and international cooperation to attain common goals./end
