Rohani: New Era Of Ties Between Iran, World Begins

Tehran, Aug 4, IRNA – President Hassan Rohani, by referring to long history of ties between Iran and Pakistan, expressed hope that a new era of friendly and good relations between Iran and the world, especially neighboring countries, begins. According to the report of Presidential Office Website, Rohani, in a meeting with Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari here on Saturday evening, by expressing pleasure that his first meeting, as Iran’s president, was with president of friendly and brotherly country of Pakistan, called mutual relations always desirable and growing. He added that joint project of gas pipeline (Peace Gas Pipeline) can have a big effect on promotion of cooperation and economic ties between the two countries. Rohani expressed hope that the project be completed as soon as possible. President Zardari said that bilateral relations between the two countries have always been positive and moving forward, adding that the level of ties between Tehran and Islamabad has been promoting in spite of international developments. He added that all signed agreements between the two countries are respected by his country. He pointed out that during transition period and holding the election in Pakistan, speed of construction of the gas pipeline decreased, which will be restored by establishment of the new government. President Zardari is in Iran to attend the oath taking ceremony of new President Hassan Rohani, which will be held on Sunday in Majlis (parliament)./end
