Roknabadi Briefs Network Analysts On Syrian Developments

Beirut, April 30, IRNA – Editors and political analysts 15 English language TV stations of Lebanon met and conferred on latest developments in Lebanon, Syria and region with Iranian Ambassador at his residence here Monday evening. Qazanfar Roknabadi in the meeting repeated the Islamic Republicˈs often stated stand in support of restoration of stability, security, unity, and internal integrity of Lebanon against the racist Zionist enemy, noting, ˈSupporting resistance against the Zionist regime is the most important characteristic of the Lebanese Government.ˈ Speaking with the group of Lebanese media elites, he referred to the noticeable victories achieved by the Syrian Army and militia forces in recent days, reiterating, ˈTwo years after the beginning of the political unrest in Syria signs of defeat of the plots hatched by the United States and the Zionist regime for changing the political map of the region, which was applied featuring some regional countriesˈ players, is now well evident.ˈ The ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran condemned resorting to armed terrorist groups, usage of chemical weapons, and accusing the Syrian Government of taking advantage of unconventional weapons as signs of weakness and desperation of those who hatch plots and dream about coming true of their hallucinations of severely damaging the resistance constellation. Speaking about the recent visit of a high ranking Egyptian delegation of Tehran, he emphasized, ˈThe policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran towards the regional countries is based on strengthening the foundations of regional unity and cooperation and broadening regional and bilateral cooperation.ˈ The Lebanese analysts and English media editors, too, in the meeting posed numerous questions on latest regional and international developments, which were answered by Roknabadi. Roknabadi underscored that no revolution has occurred and no revolutionaries exist in Syria, adding that those who kill the Syrian people are a number of murderers armed with foreign weapons. Roknabadi emphasized that present conditions are all in favor of Syria and its people, and added, ˈThe explosions and suicide operations are indicative of the inability of armed terrorist groups.ˈ Syria faces such plots aimed at toppling the popular system, he added. Dismissing rumors that there would be a revolution in Syria, Roknabadi said that there is no revolution or revolutionaries in Syria, rather there are murderers who kill people with weapons. Syria has been experiencing unrest since March, 2011 with organized attacks by well-armed gangs against the Syrian police, border guards, statesmen, army and the civilians being reported across the country./end
