Rouhani calls on regional governments to help resolve crises

Tehran, March 7, IRNA – President Hassan Rouhani on Saturday urged all the countries in the region to join hands to help the settlement of regional crises. Speaking during a meeting with visiting Jordanian Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Nasser Judeh, President Rouhani said that establishment of security and sustainable stability in the region rests upon active partnership of all regional governments. Underlining longstanding relations between Iran and Jordan, Rouhani noted that Tehran sees no restrictions for expansion of relations with the Muslim and regional countries, including Jordan. Referring to sufferings of the people of Palestine, Gaza, Lebanon and the entire region during the past several years due to Zionist war crimes and crimes against humanity, the president said that the international community has to intensify pressure on the Zionist regime. Rouhani appreciated the Jordanian government and nation for hosting of a large number of Palestinian refugees, saying Iran is ready to help the people of Palestine restore their rights and win their freedom. President Rouhani expressed deep concern about escalation of crisis in the Middle East and said that resolving the regional crises requires collective efforts of all the regional players. The Jordanian foreign minister, for his part, said that Iran is a very important neighbor for the Arab world. Judeh said that Jordan is after expansion of cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran. He said that the Palestinian nation is entitled to form its own government in its own land with al-Qods as its capital city and it makes up the main pillar of Jordan's foreign policy. He noted that Jordan government supports Iran's position in its nuclear talks with the P5+1.
